Videos, Mentorship & Useful Resources

Section 1

Video Recordings & Resources

All speeches are recorded for members only. To view yours, log into the members-only portal (https://my.mmtmc.rocks) and navigate to the video library, which is organized by meeting date. You can review your performance and the evaluator’s comments at any time.

Due to PDPA and safeguarding members’ privacy, we will not be publishing these videos openly, as some speeches and presentations are related to personal stories/experiences, or sensitive content not for mass distribution or media coverage. If you need to share another member’s video on a public domain, please obtain permission from the member or Club President before circulating the video publicly.

Please reach out to your assigned mentor first—they can guide you in the right direction regarding MMTMC resources or Pathways. You can also contact the club’s Vice President Public Relations (VPPR) team for 2026-2027 (Donathon, Francis or Miki), who oversee the publicity and media/technical resources.

We operate one of the finest chapter meetings in Singapore. Leading a 100-strong club is completely different from say a club with 20 members. There are many moving parts to organizing our events of such scale. Serving as a club leader, you will get a buffet spread of opportunities from the various roles.

These could be copywriting skills, social media engagements, and marketing campaigns for events, workshops, and contests. The educational role gets you exposed to constantly searching for top-notch workshop speakers as well as instrumental in designing more educational and engaging meetings for our members and guests.

Do look through some of the experiences shared by our members who have taken the challenge to take up our leadership roles.

Section 2

Mentorship & Support

We strive to provide dedicated mentoring, and you will be assigned a mentor to guide you in your growth as a public speaker and leader. Please speak to your mentor proactively if you need help in any Toastmaster matters, such as difficulties in understanding the project’s objectives, obtaining external speaking opportunities, etc.

MMTMC has a dedicated mentoring system with over 20 experienced mentors. New members are typically assigned a mentor who will guide them through their first projects, help them understand meeting roles, and provide personalised advice on getting started. During the new members’ orientation and onboarding, our Advisor for Mentorship and Coaching, Jei Sim, will assign a mentor to guide you upon completing the necessary steps and submitting your introduction video.

The mentor team includes Senior Mentors and Past Champion Speakers like Michell Sheya Wong, Raymond Ee, Chandran Kanapathey, Jei Sim, Tan Qing Lin,  and Chai Pei Shan, as well as many other past presidents and experienced leaders. You can view all mentor profiles on the club website (https://www.mmtmc.rocks).

Your mentor will help you prepare for your icebreaker speech, explain meeting protocols, and advise you on your Pathways education projects. They are your primary point of contact for any questions. They are effectively your buddy in your journey as a Toastmaster.

You can approach other senior members in the club to be your mentor, too, after you have been assigned a primary mentor. Different mentors have different skill sets that can assist you in different ways. Attend chapter meetings regularly and get to know the various mentors in the club.

Meetings, Supportive Environment and Club Culture

Meetings are designed to be high-energy, safe, and entertaining. You’ll experience a structured program with prepared speeches, evaluations, and table topics (impromptu speaking).

Over the past 23 years, we have grown into a vibrant club where we believe that learning is optimized when the environment is fun, friendly, non-threatening and where the people are helpful and provide strong mentorship. It is also by no coincidence that we tend to attract members  who are positive, willing to learn and share. Many also possess entrepreneurship qualities and come from C-suites backgrounds.

Getting Started & What Can I Expect

Completely normal! Every member started with an “Ice Breaker” speech. The club prides itself on being a safe environment where you can speak without fear. We appreciate the immense effort our project speakers put into crafting their speeches. And therefore, as a club, we acknowledge and encourage our speakers by giving them  a standing ovation at the end of their speeches.

Work with your mentor to prepare, then use the members-only portal to book an available speaking slot for an upcoming meeting that fits your schedule.
